Edward Gordon Craig (1872 – 1966). English actor, stage director, scenic designer and theoretician. Main productions : Dido and Aeneas (1900), Acis and Galatea (1902), The Vikings at Helgeland (1903), Much ado about nothing (1903), Hamlet (Moscow Artistic Theatre, 1912), and Ibsen’s The Crown Pretenders (Royal Danish Theatre, Copenhagen, 1926). His publications include: The Art of the Theatre (1905), On the Art of Theatre (1911), The Theatre Advancing (1919), Scene (1923), Woodcuts and some words (1924), Henry Irving (1930), Ellen Terry and her Secret Self (1931), Index to the Story of my Days (1957), and the journals The Page (1898-1901), The Mask (1908-29), and The Marionnette (1918-1919).
